Friends Can Change Perceptions, XXYYXX

I remember coming across this video when it came out last year.  At the time I thought it was contrived and though vaguely interesting, not really something with any substance.

In the past month I've made a new group of friends, two of whom I really respect their taste in music. They've been talking about XXYYXX a lot and an upcoming concert of his.  In listening to the music in this new context (and I'd honestly totally forgotten about this video) I really appreciated it and was intimidated by how much cool music my two new friends knew about.

Today I went to look up this new XXYYXX guy and connected the girls smoking video to the new persona I had built up in my mind about his music.  It was a really interesting ten seconds as I weighed out the different feelings I had and things reshuffled in my mind.  I'd say it's all about even now.

In the end what I found most interesting is how I could listen to a track twice and have such differing opinions on it simply based on the influence of my peers. =D
